Tourist suffers cardiorespiratory arrest in Rabaçal

A Polish man, aged around 50, died yesterday afternoon, after allegedly becoming ill after walking along a levada in the Rabaçal region.

The causes of death are still unknown, but it is known that the victim was already in cardiorespiratory arrest when the Calheta Volunteer Firefighters arrived at the scene. The Rapid Intervention Medical Team (EMIR) was also mobilized to try to revive the man, but efforts proved fruitless.

According to information gathered by JM, the death was confirmed at the scene.
