Snow forecast remains

The forecast of snowfall at the highest points of Madeira Island remains for this Wednesday, until the end of the morning, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (8IPMA).

The sky will generally remain very cloudy and showers are expected, more frequent on the northern slopes and in the highlands of Madeira, and which may occasionally be accompanied by thunderstorms.

The wind will be light to moderate (10 to 30 km/h) from the north, sometimes blowing strongly (up to 40 km/h) in the highlands of the island. Small rise in temperature, especially the minimum in the highlands. In Madeira, the maximum will be 20ºC and the minimum 15ºC. In Porto Santo, maximum 19ºC and minimum 13ºC.

In the Funchal region, the sky will also generally be very cloudy, with showers forecast, which may occasionally be accompanied by thunderstorms. Light wind (less than 15 km/h). Small rise in temperature.
As for the sea, on the North coast, waves from the north with 2 to 2.5 meters, and, on the South coast, waves from the south quadrant with 1 to 1.5 meters. Sea water temperature: 18/19ºC.
