Madeira was distinguished by the Marketeer Awards as the best tourism destination, resulting from the choice of readers of the specialized marketing magazine.
In the 15th edition of the Marketeer Awards, the destination was nominated, along with other major Portuguese tourist assets, such as Cascais, Lisbon, Algarve, the Central Region of Portugal and the Porto and North Region.
“This award has a very special flavor for the Madeira Destination and for the entire team that works to promote the destination. It is always very important that we continue to be recognized by the market, but we understand that the distinction also increases the commitment to maintain focus and the requirement to reinforce the position of leadership and excellence in Madeira and Porto Santo.”, says Eduardo Jesus , regional secretary for Tourism and Culture and president of the Madeira Promotion Association.
The Marketeer Awards have been held since 2009, annually honoring brands, companies and personalities that stand out nationally, in categories ranging from Tourism and Consumption, to Entertainment and Lucky Games.
The 2023 ceremony took place at the Convento do Beato, in Lisbon, bringing together the main players from the various sectors.
Destination Madeira is also nominated again for the European edition of the World Travel Awards, in five different categories: “Best Island Destination in Europe”, “Best Adventure Destination in Europe”, “Best Destination for Festivals and Events in Europe” , “Best Sustainable Destination in Europe” and “Best Beach Destination in Europe” (Porto Santo).
