The Madeira Archipelago is today under a yellow warning due to rain, wind and rough seas.
According to forecasts from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere, the sky will be very cloudy, with clearings from the morning onwards. Periods of rain, sometimes heavy, are expected until early morning, gradually changing to showers.
There is still a possibility of storms.
The wind will be moderate to strong (30 to 50 km/h) from the west, with gusts of up to 80 km/h, becoming strong to very strong (40 to 60 km/h) in the highlands of Madeira Island, with gusts of up to 100 km/h.
The maximum temperature expected for today is 20º and the minimum is 15ºC.
Regarding the state of the sea, the IPMA predicts, for the north coast, northwest waves of 1.5 to 2.5 meters, gradually increasing to 3.5 to 4.5 meters.
For the south coast, the forecast is for waves from the west/southwest of 1 to 2 meters, gradually increasing to 2.5 to 3.5 meters in the western part of Madeira Island.
