This pedestrian route, which accompanies one of the oldest public levadas on the island, has a length of 11 km and an estimated duration of 5 hours of walking. Starting in Ribeiro Frio, the PR 10 Levada do Furado allows you to contemplate the various shades of green that make up the natural area of the Laurissilva forest.
In addition to the diverse flora, consisting predominantly of tree species from the Lauraceae family, it is the Ribeiro Frio valley that dominates the landscape. In Levada do Furado, hikers have the possibility to admire the design of the agricultural fields of Faial, São Roque do Faial and Porto da Cruz, as well as the colossal rock mass of Penha d’Águia.
