The Madeira archipelago is under a yellow warning for rain and wind this Sunday.
According to the forecast from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the sky will be very cloudy, with clearings from mid-afternoon onwards and there will be periods of rain, sometimes heavy, turning into showers from mid-afternoon onwards, more frequent on the northern slopes and in the highlands.
Moderate to strong wind (30 to 40 km/h) from the southwest, turning to the northwest from late morning, sometimes with gusts of up to 70 km/h, and blowing strongly (35 to 50 km/h) in high areas, with gusts of up to 90 km/h.
The maximum temperature in Madeira is 22ºC and in Porto Santo it is 20ºC and the minimum is 16ºC, on both islands.
In Funchal, very cloudy skies, with clearings from mid-afternoon. Periods of rain, sometimes heavy, until mid-afternoon. Moderate to strong wind (30 to 40 km/h) from the southwest, sometimes with gusts of up to 65 km/h, generally becoming weak (less than 20 km/h) from the afternoon onwards.
As for the sea, on the North coast, northwest waves of 1.5 to 2 meters, increasing to 2.5 to 3.5 meters from the end of the afternoon. On the south coast, southwest waves of 1 to 1.5 meters, increasing to 1.5 to 2 meters from the end of the afternoon. Sea water temperature: 18/19ºC.
