A 32 year old tourist was rescued yesterday in Ribeira das Cales, after suffering an accident while canyoning.
The victim was rescued by the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters’ mountain rescue and assistance team, which mobilized 11 operatives and three support vehicles, including an ambulance.
After receiving pre-hospital care, the tourist was transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça, where he was admitted to the emergency room. According to a hospital source, the woman had complaints of ankle trauma and was under observation in the orthopedics department.
