Two people are reported lost in the mountains of the Municipality of Santana, advanced to JM a source from the Regional Civil Protection Service.
The regional Relief Operations Command (CROS) therefore decided to set up a search and rescue operation for the two tourists. A rescue and mountain team from the Volunteer Firefighters of Santana (BVS) and a team from the Forestry Guard began the search, the same source revealed to JM.
Apparently, they are two tourists, who walked through the Queimadas area this afternoon and still haven’t returned to their holiday residence. They will have gone for a walk to Vereda do Caldeirão Verde, in Santana, but they must have left the main trail. Tourists contacted 112, but due to the proximity of the night and the place where they should be, they were in direct contact with the rescue teams. One of the men is in contact with the rescue teams to find out the coordinates of his location.
