The Regional Civil Protection Service (SRPC) began a search and rescue operation in the São Vicente mountains this afternoon.
Apparently, JM learned from a source at the SRPC, there could be several tourists lost, as the alert to 112 revealed a group of missing tourists near the shooting range area of the São Vicente Shooting and Hunting Association, in Achada do Furtado site.
A search and rescue team from the Volunteer Firefighters of São Vicente and Porto Moniz and a patrol from the Forest Police are on their way to the location, where they will begin search operations.
