Pontinha received two ships yesterday carrying more than 5,500 people

The Port of Funchal received two cruise ships, Marella Explorer and AIDAblu, which carry 5,559 people on board, of which 4,149 are passengers.

The two ships are carrying out cruises around the islands of Madeira and the Canary Islands and both are staying overnight in Funchal, says APRAM in a press release.

The Marella Explorer came from Lanzarote, stayed in Funchal for 37 hours and left tomorrow, at 1:45 pm, for the Canary Islands.

It travels with 1,882 passengers and 784 crew. This 7-night cruise ends next Friday, in Tenerife.

The AIDAblu arrived from Las Palmas, with 2,267 passengers and 626 crew. It has a 35-hour stopover in Madeira and leaves tomorrow, at 6pm, heading to the Canary Islands, as part of the 12-night cruise that began on December 8th, in Las Palmas, with stops at five islands in that archipelago and now, also in Madeira, the penultimate stop on the itinerary that ends in Fuerteventura next Thursday.
