The cruises are back in Funchal Bay, after a break of almost a month.
The ‘Borealis’, from Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, arrived this morning in Madeiran waters, marking the start of July, in terms of cruise ship activity in the port of Funchal. It is recalled that the last cruise to make a stop in the Madeiran capital last month was the ‘Anthem of the Seas’, on June 13th.
The ‘giant’ of the seas, which docked at 7:15 am, coming from Praia da Vitória (Azores), will set sail tonight, around 11:00 pm, heading for Lisbon. It should be noted that the ‘Borealis’ is the first cruise ship of the month of July in the Port of Funchal, for which only three stopovers are planned. Porto Santo will have a stopover this month.
On the 12th of July, Tuesday, Funchal hosts ‘Europa 2’, which on the 13th will visit the golden island. On the 20th, the bay of Funchal will be brightened with the arrival of the ‘Ventura’.
