A 65-year-old French tourist suffered a fall this Saturday on the path between Pico do Areeiro. The victim will have suffered an exposed fracture in the ankle, requiring assistance.
The alert was given by other hikers who were at the scene. The victim was quickly assisted by the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters (BVM), who mobilized a rescue team to the area of the occurrence.
The victim was stabilized at the scene before being transported to the hospital unit.
