Eleven flights to and from Madeira airport by TAP, easyjet and Swiss International are canceled throughout today due to weather conditions, according to information available on the ANA – Aeroportos website.
ANA Madeira Aeroporto informs in a message published on the ‘site’ that the weather forecasts, of strong wind, “point to a continuation of restrictions on departures and arrivals”, asking passengers to confirm the status of their flight, before going to the airport.
According to information available at 07:30, throughout the day there are 11 flights to and from Madeira from TAP, easyjet and Swiss International cancelled.
This morning, on departures, a TAP flight (06:00) to Lisbon was canceled, and three easyjet flights at 08:45, 09:30 and 10:50 to Porto, Lisbon and Milan, respectively
With regard to arrivals, easyjet flights from Porto (08:15), Lisbon (09:00) and Milan (10:20) were cancelled.
On Monday, strong winds caused nine flights to diverge and four to be cancelled.
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) has placed Madeira under yellow warning due to the forecast of strong northeast winds, with gusts of up to 75 kilometers per hour until 18:00 today.
The port authority of Funchal also issued on Monday warnings of bad weather and strong wind for the coastline of the Madeira archipelago, which will be in force until 18:00 today.
