Access to the Cabo Girão viewpoint will be paid from next Monday, the 6th, with free entry for Madeirans and Porto-Santenses by registering on the SIMplifica platform, for issuing a residence card.
“All current users of SIMplifica with an active residence certificate – required to benefit from the Porto Santo social mobility subsidy – have already received or will receive, automatically, in the email associated with their registration on the portal, the update of that certificate to the version of resident card, which will allow not only to continue to benefit from the mobility subsidy, but also to access Cabo Girão for free”, said the Regional Secretariat for Finance in a statement.
The resident card can be printed or stored electronically. According to the guardianship, in case of difficulty in the registration process, the support line can be contacted through 800 29 90 90, which is open from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm.
Children up to 12 years old are exempt from any payment, so they do not need to present their resident card.
The same source says that “while the process of adapting accessibility to the Miradouro platform, for people with reduced mobility, is not completed – which is estimated to be soon -, the entrance will not be charged to those who fit this provision”.
“We remind you that the measure of charging entrances to the Miradouro do Cabo Girão, is part of the policy of preservation and profitability of the Regional Public Heritage and aims to value and protect one of the most representative tourist spots in the Region”, concludes the tutelage.
